In a surprising crossover event that breaks usual predictions, Ubisoft has revealed an digital crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual holiday event operates from November 25 through December 22, providing no-cost bonus story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Adventure Uncovered
According to the formal statement, "An unusual meeting pulls heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh quest, where whispers of prohibited ceremonies and fearsome changes reverberate through the darkness." The storyline features a "strangely attired woman named Ada" who assigns the characters with venturing into the Crystal Cave—a key location from Attack on Titan—to save her companion from a secret group.
The questline centers on "bizarre tests and a fearsome adversary" and is accessible to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Iconic Places and Metamorphoses
The teaser highlights the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was earlier where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through eras. The teaser concludes with a dramatic moment showing a character, likely the hostage, transforming into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Exclusive Prizes and Additional Material
Players who finish the adventure will obtain an unique katana alongside several objects concealed throughout the area in secret chests. The update also contains premium Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
- Titan-based attire for Yasuke
- Mikasa outfit for Naoe
- Exclusive weapons
- Survey Corps vehicle
Newest Free Story Content
This patch also introduces the game's latest free story episode, titled "The Mystery." This humorous quest pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they swap characteristic abilities: Naoe debuts a performative version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns non-fatal stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "A Puzzlement" also features a new environmental puzzle that may finally clarify some unresolved questions from the main storyline.
